When you use SurePal™ you will need your:
You will also need a sharps box to throw the needle away after the injection, and alcohol swabs to clean your skin. Your parents can help you get these from your doctor or pharmacy.
Note:
Make sure that the dose window shows you your correct dose. If it is not correct, unscrew the locking ring with its cartridge. Then press down on the sliding button until the dose window says "0.0-" Then pre-set the dose as described in section 1.
Note: if the dose does not show 0.0- the cartridge has run out of medicine. You will need to change the empty cartridge for a new cartridge, get a new needle and finish the injection (See Section 4).
Cartridges must always be stored in the refrigerator, between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius for 28 days max. It is recommended that you take the pen and cartridge(s) out of the refrigerator for 30 minutes before your injection, and put them back right after you inject.
If the dose knob stopped turning before the dose window reached 0.0-:
Note: your SurePal™ knows how much of your dose you still need, and the dose knob is already set to inject the right amount once you put a new cartridge in and attach a new needle.
